I was deported six times
“If someone tells you no, you’re talking to the wrong person.” It’s a quote that has described me pretty well…until God became the one saying “no”.
I’ve been deported six times. What felt like one closed door after another eventually became the very path God used to prepare me for Kenya. This is the chapter of my story I usually skip and the one that taught me one of the greatest lessons of my faith.

Meet the missionary
Hi, I’m Christina.
In September 2026, I’ll be moving to Kilgoris, Kenya, to serve as a full-time missionary intern at the SOS Mission Base, where I’ll support the ministries of SOS Church Kilgoris and SOS Bible School Kilgoris.
Looking back, I can see God’s hand guiding every step of a journey I never could have planned, leading me through Bible School in Stockholm, Leadership Academy in Kilgoris, and now into full-time missions back in Kenya.
Christina in Kenya is a place to share mission updates, ministry moments, and glimpses of what God is doing along the way.

Through the SOS Mission Base, I’ll have the opportunity to support our local church ministry, leadership development, discipleship, and outreach in Kilgoris, Kenya. No two days will look exactly the same, but each one is an opportunity to serve wherever God leads.

The SOS Mission Base serves as a hub for ministry, discipleship, leadership development, and outreach in Kilgoris, Kenya.

As a missionary intern, I’ll support the ministries of SOS Church Kilgoris and SOS Bible School Kilgoris through communications, administration, events, discipleship, and special ministry projects. Serving under the leadership of Principal Milana, I’ll have the opportunity to learn, grow, and gain firsthand experience in ministry leadership throughout my internship year.

The ministry serves church members, Bible school students, local leaders, families, and communities throughout the region.

Located in southwestern Kenya, Kilgoris is home to a growing church community and serves as the base for ministry, discipleship, and outreach efforts throughout all of Africa and beyond.
