If you had told me a few years ago that I would one day be living in Kenya as a missionary, I would have laughed.

Not because I disliked Kenya. Not because I disliked missions. I simply had other plans.

Raised between Minnesota and Wisconsin, I spent my college years at Liberty University, where I was originally a double major in Missions and Law before changing Missions to a minor so I could continue playing ACHA Ice Hockey. At the time, I was focused on building the life I thought I wanted.

Then God started opening doors I never expected to walk through.

The first was Bible School in Sweden.

If I’m being honest, I didn’t enroll because I thought I was called to missions. At the time, I was looking for a way to remain in Sweden, and Bible school provided a visa. What felt like a practical decision to me became one of the most significant turning points of my life.

God used a decision I made for one reason to accomplish something entirely different.

What began as a way to stay in Sweden became an invitation to know Him more deeply. That season eventually led to the Leadership Academy in Kilgoris, Kenya, and now to full-time missionary service.

Looking back, I can see His hand guiding every step. What I thought was my plan was actually preparation for His.

My Why

Bible School changed my life.

Through it, God deepened my faith, challenged my assumptions, and taught me what it means to trust Him when His plans look different than my own. What I thought would be a temporary chapter became one of the most transformative seasons of my life.

Because I experienced that transformation firsthand, my heart is to help create the same opportunity for others.

I want to see students encounter Jesus, grow in their faith, discover their calling, and step boldly into whatever God has planned for them. I know what it feels like to have your life changed by a simple yes to God, and I want more people to experience that same transformation.

The vision

Today, I serve as a missionary intern at the SOS Mission Base in Kilgoris, Kenya, supporting the ministries of SOS Church Kilgoris and SOS Bible School Kilgoris under the leadership of Principal Milana.

While my internship is where the journey continues today, it is not the end of the vision.

My desire is to help strengthen and expand the ministry so more students can be trained, more leaders can be raised up, and more people can encounter Jesus. I am especially passionate about helping create opportunities for students who might not otherwise be able to attend Bible School, ensuring that finances never become the reason someone misses God’s calling on their life.

The same Bible School that helped shape my future has the potential to shape countless others. That’s a vision worth investing in.

Looking Ahead

I don’t know every step God has planned for the future…(I sure wish I did)

What I do know is that He has been faithful in every step so far.

My prayer is simple: to serve wherever He leads, steward every opportunity well, and tell the story of what He is doing along the way.
